How to Keep Your Nails Healthy During the Winter

Shrill winds & freezing temperatures got your nails chipped and broken? 

Cold weather brings us hot chocolate & cozy blankets but it also weakens nails. So today we’re going to dive into the ways that you can keep your nails strong and healthy throughout the winter.

  1. Drinking water is the most important thing you can do to protect your nails! Hydrating your body keeps your nails from becoming weak and brittle. 
  2. Moisturizing is essential. Applying coconut, almond, or other natural oils to your cuticles once a week will help your nails from looking dull. Treat your nails just as you would your hair or skin & moisturize. 
  3. Try to keep harsh chemicals, such as acrylics, away from your nails. These strip your nails of their natural oils and this dryness combined with cold weather is not a good mix!
  4. Remember to cover your hands. Wearing gloves protects your nails from chronic dryness and protects from any dirt and grime that might get underneath your nails.
